Dr Anita La Pietra is an academic editor, art historian, curator and writer. She has over 13 years of employment experience as a lecturer in the fields of art history and design theory at Monash University and RMIT, and she is currently a course coordinator in Art History and Theory for the RMIT Hong Kong Art School. During this time, she has accumulated substantial experience in academic editing while teaching her students to express themselves in the best possible way.
Over her more than 14 years in the visual arts industry, Dr La Pietra has worked at Experimenta Media Arts, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and for six years as curator for the La Trobe University Museum of Art, until 2016. She has also lectured at several major art institutions including the National Gallery of Victoria and MUMA | Monash University Museum of Art. In addition to publishing in her field of expertise (nineteenth-century scientific photography) and authoring numerous catalogue essays, Dr La Pietra has significant experience editing exhibition catalogues, essays, theses and journal articles for her students and colleagues.
Dr La Pietra’s love of words and extensive experience teaching students to write academically have drawn her to the field of professional academic editing, and her expertise as both an art historian and writer has led her to become one of Capstone Editing’s specialist academic editors.
